Fr. Agnel School Celebrates Anticipated 60th Birthday of Rev. Fr. Harold Da Silva, SFX

  • An anticipated 60th Birthday celebration of Rev. Fr. Harold Da Silva, SFX, the esteemed Manager of Fr. Agnel Co-Ed Senior Secondary School, Bhopal, was held with joy and reverence on the school campus today. The celebration was attended by the Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, and members of the school community.

Rev. Fr. Harold was warmly welcomed and escorted to the venue, accompanied by the Reverend Principal and Sr. Rosy. Adding colour and grace to the occasion, students dressed as flowers gently swayed to music as they ushered the Birthday Father, creating a serene and joyful atmosphere.

The programme commenced with a special prayer service, seeking God’s blessings for Fr. Harold’s good health, peace of mind, and continued guidance. This was followed by the hymn “You Are With Me,” reverently sung by the teachers, setting a prayerful tone for the celebration. A specially composed birthday song, beautifully rendered by the Teachers’ Choir, was a heartfelt tribute expressing gratitude for his leadership and service.

As a gesture of love and appreciation, handmade birthday cards prepared by students from the Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle School, and Higher Secondary sections were presented to Rev. Fr. Harold, reflecting the affection and respect he enjoys across all sections of the school.

During his address, Rev. Fr. Harold thanked the management, staff, and students for celebrating his birthday and making it a memorable and meaningful occasion. He gently reminded everyone that his actual birthday falls on 14th January, but since it coincides with the Makar Sankranti holiday, the celebration was held a day earlier, which he warmly referred to as a “prepaid birthday.”

Linking his message to the spirit of Makar Sankranti, he spoke about the tradition of flying kites on the festival day. He encouraged students to fly high like kites in the sky, dream big, and strive for excellence, while also reminding them to remain rooted to the ground, just as a kite needs its string and anchor to soar. He urged students to stay grounded in values, humility, and discipline, and to remain grateful and thankful to parents, teachers, and all those who help them rise higher in life.

He further described birthdays as a reminder of growth, survival, and the blessing of another year, calling upon everyone to thank God for His grace and to live life with purpose and gratitude. His inspiring address has been uploaded on the school’s official media platforms.

The celebration also highlighted Rev. Fr. Harold’s life journey and profile, marking 60 years of dedicated service to faith, education, and society, which continues to inspire the entire Fr. Agnel family.

The programme concluded on a note of joy, reverence, and thanksgiving, leaving behind cherished memories of a truly grace-filled and meaningful celebration.
